WALT DISNEY'S MICKEY MOUSE Volume 2 Trapped on Treasure Island -- By Floyd Gottfredson.
Highly Recommended. Floyd Gottfredson's classic 1930s Mickey Mouse is back for another round of thrills, chills, and epic quests - taking him from the depths of teeming jungles to the halls of spooky Blaggard Castle. Mickey's classic bad guys are here, too, with arch-enemy Pegleg Pete joined for this book by the mysterious "Bill Shakespeare" and hypnosis-happy Professors Ecks, Doublex, and Triplex!....More.

News & Notes

Sacramento Antiquarian Book Fair - Our first show of the fall season is coming up quickly. If you would like to attend, we can send you a free pass. Send an email to bpbandhbooks@me.com or just call Anne at 530-273-9762. And if you'd like us to bring anything special to the show for you to see (no obligation), just send me an email or call. My email is bud@budplant.com or call 800-242-6642 and ask for me or leave me a message if I'm out. I hope to see you there, it's a fun local show that includes 60 dealers from up and down the West Coast. We always bring a selection of better old comics and comics-related items, besides some better illustrated and children's books. But we can't bring everything, so let us know if there is something specific you are interested in!

There are several items noted above that are already sold out upon publication which we only have a limited supply of. I don't mention this as hyperbole...it just happens that this week several items like that came along, Art Adams' Monsters Attack, Glenn Fabry's Sketchbook, the Pirelli Anniversary Book, and J. Scott Campbell's Vampi Statue. Usually we can keep reordering items in order to make them available to you for several months, if not longer. But in this case, some or all of these may not even last long enough to make the next catalog. I wish we had more, but we are at the mercy of the publishers sometimes...

Mature Readers

Budd Root has a new Heroescon 2015 Sketchbook [CAV15S. $16.95] in this week, and I particularly like it. We also still have the 2012 and 2013 editions [CAV12HS, CAV13HS. $16.95 each] along with the Pittsburgh 2012 Babes for Burgers [CAV12PS. $16.95]. There is also a 2014 Cavewoman Con Showbook [CAV14S. $16.95], which I believe took the place of the Heroescon book for that year. All are signed by Budd.

See our website for more Budd Root and Cavewoman.

Also in this week is the massive all-new collection, 50 Years of the Pirelli Calendar. [50PH. $69.99 $59.99] Although they've produced one of these every 5 or 10 years, which I found a bit repetitive, I am far more impressed by this special anniversary edition. Besides every single monthly calendar photo for all 50 years, it also provides page after page of behind-the-scenes shots, special commentary by artists and models, and far more. It's a massive volume that could be poured over for hours. And each year it has been on the cutting edge of erotic photography, making this a 50 year history of the finest work by the finest photographers.

We just got word that this was under-printed and is going to be sold out in the first printing, if not also out of print for some time. Our supply is very limited; we're trying to get a few more to cover first orders.
